Internship Descriptions
1. Policy Reform & Democratic Research: “Centre for Democracy”
Description: The Centre for Democracy is a think-tank dedicated to analyzing India’s complex political landscape and strengthening its democratic institutions. As an intern, you will move beyond textbooks to conduct real-world research on critical democratic and political scenarios. You will assist in analyzing existing policies, gathering field data, and developing evidence-based policy recommendations that promote transparent and accountable governance.
Key Responsibilities: Policy and political research, data collection, analyzing political scenarios.
desirable profile/Qualifications: Students of LLB, BALLB, BA Social Work. Field exposure and data collection skills are highly desired.
Key Learning Outcomes: Mastery of political research methodologies, policy analysis skills, in-depth understanding of the Indian political system.
2. Strategic Public Advocacy & Professional Nurturing: Vidhivetta (“Voice of Legal Collective”)
Description: Vidhivetta is not just a platform; it is a movement to create a skilled and supported “legal collective.” This initiative focuses on public interest advocacy (PIL), skill-building for young advocates, and navigating the practical challenges of legal practice. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the life-cycle of strategic litigation.
Key Responsibilities: Legal research, legal drafting (petitions, replies), assisting in PILs. You will also manage court processes (filing, process fees, posting).
desirable profile/Qualifications: Students of LLB or BALLB. Must have strong legal drafting skills, computer proficiency, and an interest in public interest litigation.
Key Learning Outcomes: Practical drafting for PILs, navigation of the court system, advanced legal research techniques.
3. Grassroots Social Action: NGO (EYE)
Description: Join ETERNAL YOUTH ESTABLISHMENT (EYE) and lead massive national campaigns for social change. This NGO moves beyond theory, focusing on direct community action in two key areas:
National Awareness Campaign for Women: Conduct research on women’s rights violations and legal precedents. You will analyze legal strategies and facilitate communication with key ministries and departments working on gender justice.
National Campaign for Primary Education: Lead data collection and primary research on foundational education statistics. You will identify systemic gaps in basic education in India and facilitate public dialogue.
desirable profile/Qualifications: Students of LLB, BALLB, BA Social Work, or Psychology. We prioritize socially active individuals with experience in community organizing or community mobilization.
Key Learning Outcomes: Designing and executing national awareness campaigns, advanced community organizing skills, experience in interacting with government stakeholders.
4. Digital Democracy & Independent Media: “Political Story” (YouTube News Channel)
Description: In a world with complex media landscapes, “Political Story” is an independent news platform dedicated to providing unfiltered information and analysis. We are seeking creative interns to bring critical social and political issues to the digital forefront.
Key Responsibilities: Content writing, media production (filming, sound), video editing. You will also manage digital designing (Canva) and digital media strategy.
desirable profile/Qualifications: Students of Journalism. Candidates must be camera-friendly (if applicable), have strong content writing skills, and possess expertise in digital media tools (editing software, Canva, and basics of designing).
Key Learning Outcomes: End-to-end video news production, effective digital media storytelling, understanding media ethics and independent journalism.
Key Internship Details for All Initiatives
Mode of Internship: In-person (based in Delhi).
Duration: Flexible, ranging from 2 months to 6 months.
Compensation:
Positions are primarily NON Stipend.
A stipend of 5,000/- per month or a modified compensation may be provided based upon the capability, dedication, and significant contribution of the candidate.
